ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਜੰਤ ॥

The Naam is the Support of all creatures.

ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਆ ਜੰਤ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾਮ = ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ। ਧਾਰੇ = ਟਿਕਾਏ ਹੋਏ, ਆਸਰੇ।

ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੇ ਖੰਡ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ॥

The Naam is the Support of the earth and solar systems.

ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਗ (ਹਿੱਸੇ) ਭੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਟਿਕਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ। ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ = {Skt. ब्रह्यांड = The egg of Brahman, the primordial egg from which the universe sprang, the world, universe} ਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ, ਜਗਤ। ਖੰਡ = ਹਿੱਸੇ, ਟੋਟੇ।

ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੇ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ॥

The Naam is the Support of the Simritees, the Vedas and the Puraanas.

ਵੇਦ, ਪੁਰਾਣ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਹਨ,

ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੇ ਸੁਨਨ ਗਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ॥

The Naam is the Support by which we hear of spiritual wisdom and meditation.

ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਰਤ ਜੋੜਨੀ ਭੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਹੀ ਹੈ।

ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੇ ਆਗਾਸ ਪਾਤਾਲ ॥

The Naam is the Support of the Akaashic ethers and the nether regions.

ਸਾਰੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਪਤਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਆਸਰੇ ਹਨ, ਆਗਾਸ = ਆਕਾਸ਼।

ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਆਕਾਰ ॥

The Naam is the Support of all bodies.

ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਤੇ ਹਨ। ਆਕਾਰ = ਸਰੂਪ, ਸਰੀਰ।

ਨਾਮ ਕੇ ਧਾਰੇ ਪੁਰੀਆ ਸਭ ਭਵਨ ॥

The Naam is the Support of all worlds and realms.

ਤਿੰਨੇ ਭਵਨ ਤੇ ਚੌਦਹ ਲੋਕ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੇ ਟਿਕਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਪੁਰੀਆ = ਸ਼ਹਿਰ, ਸਰੀਰ, ੧੪ ਲੋਕ। ਭਵਨ = {Skt.भुवन = A world, the number of worlds is either three, as in त्रिभुवभ, or fourteen} ਲੋਕ, ਜਗਤ।

ਨਾਮ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਰੇ ਸੁਨਿ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ॥

Associating with the Naam, listening to it with the ears, one is saved.

ਜੀਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਵਿਚ ਜੁੜ ਕੇ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕੰਨੀਂ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸ੍ਰਵਨ = ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ।

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਨੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਾਏ ॥

Those whom the Lord mercifully attaches to His Naam

ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ,
