PAADHARI STANZA BY THY GRACE
ਪਾਧੜੀ ਛੰਦ: ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ:
ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਸਰਬ ਛਿਤ ਕੇ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਿਥਮੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਛੇਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਛੇਤੀ
ਸੰਨ︀ਯਾਸ ਜੋਗ ਲਾਗੇ ਉਤਾਲ ॥
In this way, all the kings of the earth immediately joined the path of Sannyas and Yoga
ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਯੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਗੇ।
ਇਕ ਕਰੈ ਲਾਗਿ ਨਿਵਲਿ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਮ ॥
ਇਕ ਤਾਂ ਨਿਉਲੀ ਆਦਿ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਗ ਗਏ ਹਨ
ਇਕ ਧਰਤ ਧਿਆਨ ਲੈ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਚਰਮ ॥੧੪੨॥
Someone performed the Neoli Karma (purging of insestines) and someone wearing the garments of hide, was absorbed in meditation.142.
ਅਤੇ ਚੰਮ ਦੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਧਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪੨॥
ਇਕ ਧਰਤ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਬਲਕਲਨ ਅੰਗਿ ॥
ਇਕਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਿਛਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਛਿਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਸਤ੍ਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ
ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਕਲਪ ਇਸਥਿਤ ਉਤੰਗ ॥
Someone is wearing the garments of a recluse and someone is standing straight with a special notion
ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਕਲਪ (ਜਿੰਨੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਚ ਬਾਂਹ) ਉੱਚੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਕਰਤ ਅਲਪ ਦੁਗਧਾ ਅਹਾਰ ॥
ਇਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਦੁੱਧ ਦਾ ਆਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ
ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਬਰਖ ਬਹੁ ਨਿਰਾਹਾਰ ॥੧੪੩॥
Someone subsists only on milk and someone abides without eating and srinking.143.
ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਵਰ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਤਕ ਬਿਨਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪੩॥
ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਮੋਨ ਮੋਨੀ ਮਹਾਨ ॥
ਇਕ ਮਹਾਨ ਮੋਨੀ ਚੁਪ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਕਰਤ ਨ︀ਯਾਸ ਤਜਿ ਖਾਨ ਪਾਨ ॥
Those great saints observed silence and many practiced Yoga without eating and drinking
ਇਕ ਖਾਣਾ ਪੀਣਾ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਯੋਗ ਦਾ ਵਿਧਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਏਕ ਪਗ ਨਿਰਾਧਾਰ ॥
ਇਕ (ਕੇਵਲ) ਇਕ ਪੈਰ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਾਧਾਰ ਖੜੋਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਬਸਤ ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਕਾਨਨ ਪਹਾਰ ॥੧੪੪॥
Many stood on one foot without and support and many resided in villages, forests and mountains.144.
ਇਕ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ, ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਵਿਚ ਵਸਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪੪॥
ਇਕ ਕਰਤ ਕਸਟ ਕਰ ਧੂਮ੍ਰ ਪਾਨ ॥
ਇਕ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਨਾਲ ਧੂਮਰ-ਪਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਕਰਤ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿਨ ਸਨਾਨ ॥
Many taking in smoke endured suffering and many took baths of different kinds
ਇਕ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਇਕ ਪਗ ਜੁਗ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਨ ॥
ਇਕ (ਕੇਵਲ) ਇਕ ਪੈਰ ਉਤੇ ਯੁਗ (ਜਿੰਨੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤਕ ਖੜੋਤੇ) ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਈ ਊਰਧ ਬਾਹ ਮੁਨਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਾਨ ॥੧੪੫॥
Many stood on their foot for ages and many great sages turned their arms upwards.145.
ਕਈ ਮਹਾਨ ਮਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਾਂਹ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਚੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ॥੧੪੫॥
ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਬੈਠਿ ਜਲਿ ਮਧਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
ਇਕ ਜਲ ਵਿਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਤਪਤ ਆਗਿ ਊਰਧ ਜਰਾਇ ॥
Someone sat down in water and many made themselves warm by burning fire
ਇਕ ਅੱਗ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਬੜ ਬਾਲ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਸੇਕ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਕਰਤ ਨ︀ਯਾਸ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ॥
ਇਕ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯੋਗ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਏਕ ਆਸਾ ਅਧਾਰ ॥੧੪੬॥
Someone practiced various postures and someone continued to live on the strength of one desire.146.
ਇਕ ਕੇਵਲ ਇਕ ਆਸ ਦੇ ਆਸਰੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪੬॥
ਕੇਈ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਨੀਚ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਤ ਡੀਠ ॥
ਕਈ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ।
ਕੇਈ ਤਪਤ ਆਗਿ ਪਰ ਜਾਰ ਪੀਠ ॥
There are many who do not see below and many warm themselves by burning fire on their back
ਕਈ ਅੱਗ ਬਾਲ ਕੇ ਪਿੱਠ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਬੈਠ ਕਰਤ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਚਰਜ ਦਾਨ ॥
ਕਈ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਤ, ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਰਯ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਧਰਤ ਚਿਤ ਏਕੈ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥੧੪੭॥
Some sit down and hold fasts and bestow charities and many are absorbed only in One Lord.147.
ਕਈ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ('ਨਿਧਾਨ') ਨੂੰ ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪੭॥
ਕੇਈ ਕਰਤ ਜਗਿ ਅਰੁ ਹੋਮ ਦਾਨ ॥
ਕਈ ਯੱਗ, ਹੋਮ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਿਧਵਤਿ ਇਸਨਾਨ ॥
Many take bath according to Shastric injuctions in various ways
ਕਈ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਧੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਧਰਤ ਜਾਇ ਲੈ ਪਿਸਟ ਪਾਨ ॥
ਕਈ ਪੈਰਾਂ (ਨੂੰ ਮੋੜ ਕੇ) ਪਿਠ ਉਤੇ ਟਿਕਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਦੇਤ ਕਰਮ ਕੀ ਛਾਡਿ ਬਾਨ ॥੧੪੮॥
And many are busy in Yajnas charities and hom many are standing with their hands touching the earth at their back and many forsaking crores of rupees are donating whatever they have with th
ਕਈ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਆਦਤ ('ਬਾਨ') ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪੮॥
ਕੇਈ ਕਰਤ ਬੈਠਿ ਪਰਮੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ ॥
ਕਈ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨ ('ਪਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼') ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਪਬ ਬਨਿ ਬਨਿ ਉਦਾਸ ॥
Many are sitting in Supreme Light and many are roaming unattached on mountain and in the forest
ਕਈ ਉਦਾਸ ਹੋ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਰਹਤ ਏਕ ਆਸਨ ਅਡੋਲ ॥
ਕਈ ਇਕ ਆਸਨ ਉਤੇ ਅਡੋਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਜਪਤ ਬੈਠਿ ਮੁਖ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਅਮੋਲ ॥੧੪੯॥
Many are sitting in one posture and many are reciting mantras.149.
ਕਈ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਅਮੋਲਕ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਪ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੪੯॥
ਕੇਈ ਕਰਤ ਬੈਠਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਚਾਰ ॥
ਕਈ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਕਰਤ ਪਾਠ ਮੁਨਿ ਮਨ ਉਦਾਰ ॥
Some are uttering the Name of the Lord while sitting and some sages are reading the religious text with a generous heart
ਕਈ ਉਦਾਰ ਮਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੁਨੀ (ਸਤੋਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦਾ) ਪਾਠ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਵ ਭਗਵਤ ਭਜੰਤ ॥
ਕਈ ਭਗਤੀ ਭਾਵ ਵਾਲੇ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਰਿਚਾ ਬੇਦ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਟੰਤ ॥੧੫੦॥
Many are meditating on the Lord with devotion and many are repeating the Vedic verses and Smritis.150.
ਕਈ ਵੇਦ ਦੀਆਂ ਰਿਚਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਟਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫੦॥
ਕੇਈ ਏਕ ਪਾਨ ਅਸਥਿਤ ਅਡੋਲ ॥
ਕਈ ਇਕ ਪੈਰ ਉਤੇ ਅਡੋਲ ਖੜੋਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਜਪਤ ਜਾਪ ਮਨਿ ਚਿਤ ਖੋਲਿ ॥
Many are standing on one hand and many are reciting mantras with fullness of mind
ਕਈ ਖੁਲ੍ਹੇ ਮਨ ਚਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਪ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਰਹਤ ਏਕ ਮਨ ਨਿਰਾਹਾਰ ॥
ਕਈ ਇਕਾਗਰ ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਰਾਹਾਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਭਛਤ ਪਉਨ ਮੁਨਿ ਮਨ ਉਦਾਰ ॥੧੫੧॥
Many go without food and many sages only subsist on air.151.
ਕਈ ਉਦਾਰ ਮਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੁਨੀ ਵਾਯੂ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫੧॥
ਇਕ ਕਰਤ ਨਿਆਸ ਆਸਾ ਬਿਹੀਨ ॥
ਇਕ ਆਸ (ਇੱਛਾ) ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਏਕ ਭਗਵਤ ਅਧੀਨ ॥
Many are sitting in postures, abandoning their desires and expectations and many have resigned themselves to the support of the Lord
ਇਕ (ਕੇਵਲ) ਇਕ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਕਰਤ ਨੈਕੁ ਬਨ ਫਲ ਅਹਾਰ ॥
ਇਕ ਬਨ ਦੇ ਫਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਥੋੜਾ ਜਿਹਾ ਆਹਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਰਟਤ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਆਮਾ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੧੫੨॥
Many are subsisting on small quantity of fruit in the forest and many are only repeating the Name of the Lord.152.
ਇਕ ਅਪਾਰ (ਪਰਾਕ੍ਰਮ ਵਾਲੀ) ਦੇਵੀ ('ਸਿਆਮਾ') ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਰਟਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫੨॥
ਇਕ ਏਕ ਆਸ ਆਸਾ ਬਿਰਹਤ ॥
ਇਕ ਆਸ (ਇੱਛਾ) ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇਕੋ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਭਾਤਿ ਦੁਖ ਦੇਹ ਸਹਤ ॥
Many are abiding only with the hope of meeting the Lord and many are enduring many kinds of sufferings
ਇਕ ਕਈ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁਖ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਸਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਕਹਤ ਏਕ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਕਥਾਨ ॥
ਇਕ (ਕੇਵਲ) ਇਕ ਹਰਿ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਮੁਕਤ ਪਤ੍ਰ ਪਾਵਤ ਨਿਦਾਨ ॥੧੫੩॥
Many are busy in speaking a discourse of the Lord and many are ultimately obtaining salvation.153.
ਇਕ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫੩॥
ਇਕ ਪਰੇ ਸਰਣਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਦੁਆਰ ॥
ਇਕ ਹਰਿ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਰ ਉਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਨੀਂ ਪਏ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਰਹਤ ਤਾਸੁ ਨਾਮੈ ਅਧਾਰ ॥
Many have come under the refuge of the Lord and their support is only the name of the Lord
ਇਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰ ਉਤੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਜਪਤ ਨਾਮ ਤਾ ਕੋ ਦੁਰੰਤ ॥
ਇਕ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਨੰਤ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਅੰਤਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਾਵਤ ਬਿਅੰਤ ॥੧੫੪॥
Many are repeating His Name and are ultimately obtaining salvation.154.
ਇਕ (ਉਸ) ਬੇਅੰਤ (ਪ੍ਰਭੂ) ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫੪॥
ਇਕ ਕਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਚਾਰ ॥
ਇਕ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਅਗਨਿ ਹੋਤ੍ਰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਚਾਰ ॥
Many are uttering the Name of the Lord day and night and many adopting the thought of the Lord in their mind, are performing Agnihotra (the rite of fire-offering)
ਇਕ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਵਿਚਾਰ (ਨੂੰ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਅਗਨੀਹੋਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਰਬ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਰਟੰਤ ॥
ਇਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਟਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਸਾਧ ਰੀਤਿ ਨਿਸ ਦਿਨ ਚਲੰਤ ॥੧੫੫॥
Many are repeating for memory the Shastras and Smritis and many are continuously observing
ਇਕ ਸਾਧਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਰਯਾਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਅਮਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫੫॥
ਇਕ ਹੋਮ ਦਾਨ ਅਰੁ ਬੇਦ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
ਇਕ ਵੇਦ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੋਮ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਰਟਤ ਬੈਠਿ ਖਟ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਮੀਤ ॥
Many are performing the acts of hom and charity according to Vedic injunctions and many friends sitting together are cramming the six Shastras
ਇਕ ਮਿਤਰ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਕਰਤ ਬੇਦ ਚਾਰੋ ਉਚਾਰ ॥
ਇਕ ਚੌਹਾਂ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਇਕ ਗਿਆਨ ਗਾਥ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੧੫੬॥
Many are reciting the four Vedas and are describing the infinite greatness of the discussion about knowledge.15
ਇਕ ਅਪਾਰ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਵਾਲੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਗਾਥਾ (ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ) ॥੧੫੬॥
ਇਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਭਾਤਿ ਮਿਸਟਾਨ ਭੋਜ ॥
ਇਕ ਭਾਂਤ ਭਾਂਤ ਦੇ ਮਿਠੇ ਭੋਜਨ
ਬਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਬੋਲਿ ਭਛ ਦੇਤ ਰੋਜ ॥
Many are ever calling lowly and afflicted ones and serving them sweets and food
ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਨਿੱਤ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕੇਈ ਕਰਤ ਬੈਠਿ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਤਿ ਪਾਠ ॥
ਕਈ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਠ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਈ ਅੰਨਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਚਾਬੰਤ ਕਾਠ ॥੧੫੭॥
Many are busy in reciting the religious texts in various ways and many forsaking the corn, are just chewing the wood.157.
ਕਈ ਅੰਨ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਕਾਠ ਨੂੰ ਚਬਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧੫੭॥
