ਤੋਟਕ ਛੰਦ:

ਚੜਿ ਹੈ ਗਹਿ ਕੋਪ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਣ ਰਣੰ ॥

ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਲਈ ਚੜ੍ਹਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਘਮਕੰਤ ਕਿ ਘੁੰਘਰ ਘੋਰ ਘਣੰ ॥

The warrior who will roar in fury, like the rushing clouds, holding his sword, his name is Khed (regret)

ਬਦਲ ਵਾਂਗ ਘੁੰਘਰੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਘਮਕਾਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਸੁ ਖੇਦ ਅਭੇਦ ਭਟੰ ॥

ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਨਾ ਭੇਦੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣ ਵਾਲਾ 'ਖੇਦ' ਸੂਰਮਾ ਹੈ।

ਕਲ ਰੂਪ ਕਰਾਲ ਜ੍ਵਾਲ ਜਲੰ ॥

O king! consider him extremely powerful.222.

(ਜਿਸ ਦੇ) ਸੁਹਾਵਣੇ ('ਕਲ') ਰੂਪ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਅੱਗ ਬਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ (ਅਰਥਾਤ-ਅਗਨੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਾਟਾਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ)।

ਅਸਿ ਉਜਲ ਪਾਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਨ੍ਰਿਮਲੰ ॥

The name of that mighty warrior is Kitriya (evil woman)

(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਸਫੈਦ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ (ਪਕੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ) ਚਮਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੈ।

ਅਤਿ ਉਜਲ ਦੰਦ ਅਨੰਦ ਮਨੰ ॥

The name of that mighty warrior is Kitriya (evil woman)

(ਉਸ ਦੇ) ਦੰਦ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਿੱਟੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਨੰਦ (ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ)।

ਅਤਿ ਸਿਆਮ ਸਰੂਪ ਕਰੂਪ ਤਨੰ ॥

He (she) is dreadful like the flames of fire, has white sword, pure glory with rows of white teeth and who is full of pleasure.223.

(ਜਿਸ ਦਾ) ਬਹੁਤ ਕਾਲਾ ਸਰੂਪ ਅਤੇ ਬਦਸੂਰਤ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਹੈ।

ਉਪਜੰ ਅਗ︀ਯਾਨ ਬਿਲੋਕਿ ਮਨੰ ॥

He, who is extremely ugly and has a black body, and seeing whom, the ignorance is produced, the name of that mighty warriors is Galani (hatred)

(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਤਿਹ ਨਾਮ ਗਿਲਾਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਭਟੰ ॥

He, who is extremely ugly and has a black body, and seeing whom, the ignorance is produced, the name of that mighty warriors is Galani (hatred)

ਉਸ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ 'ਗਿਲਾਨਿ' ਹੈ।

ਅਤਿ ਅੰਗ ਸੁਰੰਗ ਸਨਾਹ ਸੁਭੰ ॥

He is a great fighter and with his persistence causes the defeat of others.224.

ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਉਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਅਤੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਵਚ ਹੈ।

ਬਹੁ ਕਸਟ ਸਰੂਪ ਸੁ ਕਸਟ ਛੁਭੰ ॥

His limbs are of extremely pretty colour and he had the power to agonise hardest tribulations

'ਕਸ਼ਟ' ਸਰੂਪ ਵਾਲਾ (ਇਹ ਯੋਧਾ) ਬਹੁਤ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਖਿਝਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਅਤਿ ਬੀਰ ਅਧੀਰ ਨ ਭਯੋ ਕਬ ਹੀ ॥

His limbs are of extremely pretty colour and he had the power to agonise hardest tribulations

(ਇਹ) ਅਤਿ ਅਧਿਕ ਸੂਰਵੀਰ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਅਧੀਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਭਟ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਕਰਮ ਜਬੈ ਧਰਿ ਹੈ ॥

This warrior has never become impatient and all the gods and goddesses recognize him quite nicely.225.

'ਕਰਮ' ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯੋਧਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ('ਬਿਕਰਮ') ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ

ਰਣ ਰੰਗ ਤੁਰੰਗਹਿ ਬਿਚਰਿ ਹੈ ॥

When all these warriors will assume their power, then they will ride their horses and wander

ਅਤੇ ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਘੋੜੇ ਉਤੇ ਵਿਚਰੇਗਾ।

ਤਬ ਬੀਰ ਸੁ ਧੀਰਹਿ ਕੋ ਧਰਿ ਹੈ ॥

When all these warriors will assume their power, then they will ride their horses and wander

(ਤਦ ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ!) ਤੇਰਾ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਸੂਰਮਾ ਧੀਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ,
