ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਓ ਮੂਰਖ ਅੰਧ ਗਵਾਰਿ ॥

The foolish, blind clown does not serve the True Guru.

ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਗਵਾਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਗਵਾਰਿ = ਗਵਾਰ ਨੇ।

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਜਲਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥

In love with duality, he endures terrible suffering, and burning, he cries out in pain.

ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਦੋਂ ਸੜਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾੜੇ ਘੱਤਦਾ ਹੈ;

ਜਿਨ ਕਾਰਣਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੇ ਨ ਉਪਕਰੇ ਅੰਤੀ ਵਾਰ ॥

He forgets the Guru, for the sake of mere objects, but they will not come to his rescue in the end.

ਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਖ਼ਰੀ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੁੱਕਰਦੇ। ਜਿਨ ਕਾਰਣਿ = ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਾਤਰ। ਉਪਕਰੇ = ਪੁੱਕਰੇ, ਬਹੁੜੇ।
