ਸਵੈਯਾ:

ਬੈਸ ਬਿਤੀ ਬਸਿ ਬਾਮਹੁ ਕੇ ਬਿਸੁਨਾਥ ਕਹੂੰ ਹਿਯ ਮੈ ਨ ਸਰਿਯੋ ॥

The woman, then, asked the sage, ‘You are spending your life under the directives of a female and never meditated on God

(ਤਦ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਮੁਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਹੋਈ ਕਿ) ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਸ ਪਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਪਰ ਕਦੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਬਿਸੰਭਾਰ ਭਯੋ ਬਰਰਾਤ ਕਹਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੇਦ ਕੇ ਬਾਦਿ ਬਿਬਾਦਿ ਬਰਿਯੋ ॥

‘Now you have become a burden on the earth as you have renounced even the oration of Vedas.

(ਤੂੰ) ਬੇਸੁਧ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈਂ। ਵੇਦ ਦੇ ਵਾਦ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਤੂੰ ਬਰੜਾਉਂਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।

ਬਹਿ ਕੈ ਬਲੁ ਕੈ ਬਿਝੁ ਕੈ ਉਝ ਕੈ ਤੁਹਿ ਕਾਲ ਕੋ ਖ︀ਯਾਲ ਕਹਾ ਬਿਸਰਿਯੋ ॥

‘Losing self-control you are mumbling and have abandoned the dread of Kaal, the god of death.

(ਸੰਸਾਰਿਕਤਾ ਵਿਚ) ਵਹਿ ਕੇ, (ਵਾਸਨਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚ) ਸੜ ਕੇ, (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਤੋਂ) ਵਿਛੜ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ (ਕਰਤੱਵ ਪਥ ਤੋਂ) ਉਖੜ ਕੇ, ਤੂੰ ਕਾਲ ਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
