ਦੋਹਰਾ:
ਮਹਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਬਿਖੈ ਤਸਕਰ ਰਹੈ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
In the house of Mahaan Singh, there used to come a number of thieves.
ਮਹਾ ਸਿੰਘ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੋਰ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਨਿਤਿਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਲ︀ਯਾਵਹੀ ਅਧਿਕ ਖਜਾਨੋ ਮਾਰਿ ॥੧॥
They always stole lot of wealth and took that to their homes.(1)
ਨਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨੇ (ਧਨ ਦੌਲਤ) ਲੁਟ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆ ਕੇ ਦਿੰਦੇ ॥੧॥
