ਦੋਹਰਾ:
ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਜਾਨਤ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕੀ ਪੈਸਨ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤ ॥
‘She does not understand the essence of love as money is the only her passion.
(ਇਹ) ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਦੀ, (ਇਸ ਨੂੰ) ਪੈਸਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਛੂ ਬਿਸੀਅਰੁ ਬੇਸਯਾ ਕਹੋ ਕਵਨ ਕੇ ਮੀਤ ॥੪੩॥
‘How can a reptile and a prostitute think in good terms of their friends?’(43)
ਬਿਛੂ, ਸੱਪ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਸਵਾ ਦਸੋ, ਭਲਾ ਕਿਸ ਦੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਹਨ ॥੪੩॥
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਮਦ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਯੋ ਘਨੋ ਅਤਿ ਚਿਤ ਮੋਦ ਬਢਾਇ ॥
Satisfied and pondering this way, the Raja served her wine in abundance.
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪਿਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ
ਮਤ ਸਵਾਈ ਖਾਟ ਪਰ ਆਪਿ ਭਜਨ ਕੇ ਭਾਇ ॥੪੪॥
To run away he put her, when intoxicated with wine, in the bed.(44)
ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਭਜਣ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਦ-ਮਸਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੰਜੇ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪੪॥
ਮਦਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਯਾਯੋ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਕੋ ਨਿਜੁ ਕਰ ਪ︀ਯਾਲੇ ਡਾਰਿ ॥
The Raja had served her the cups full of wine with his own hands and
(ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ) ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਪਿਲਾਈ
ਇਹ ਛਲ ਸੌ ਤਿਹ ਮਤ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਖਾਟ ਸੁਵਾਰਿ ॥੪੫॥
Cunningly made her to sleep.(45)
ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਛਲ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਸਤ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੰਜੇ ਉਤੇ ਸੁਆ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪੫॥
