ਚੌਪਈ:

ਇਹ ਛਲ ਸੋ ਅਬਲਾ ਕਰਿ ਆਈ ॥

Thus, it is how the lady performed duplicity, and it looked like as if a

ਇਹ ਛਲ ਉਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆ ਗਈ,

ਜਾਨਕ ਰੰਕ ਨਵੋ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥

destitute had gained nine treasurers (of Kuber).

ਮਾਨੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਨੇ ਨੌ ਨਿਧੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲਈਆਂ ਹੋਣ।

ਐਸੀ ਬਸਿ ਤਰੁਨੀ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਗਈ ॥

She was immersed so intensively (in his thought) that she felt as if

ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ (ਉਹ) ਮੁਟਿਆਰ ਵਸ ਵਿਚ ਹੋ ਗਈ,
