ਗਲੀਂ︀ ਅਸੀ ਚੰਗੀਆ ਆਚਾਰੀ ਬੁਰੀਆਹ ॥

We are good at talking, but our actions are bad.

ਅਸੀਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਚੱਜੀਆਂ (ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ) ਆਚਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਾੜੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ। ਆਚਾਰੀ = ਚਾਲ-ਚਲਣ ਵਿਚ।

ਮਨਹੁ ਕੁਸੁਧਾ ਕਾਲੀਆ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਚਿਟਵੀਆਹ ॥

Mentally, we are impure and black, but outwardly, we appear white.

ਮਨੋਂ ਖੋਟੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਕਾਲੀਆਂ (ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ) ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਸਾਫ਼ ਸੁਥਰੀਆਂ। ਮਨਹੁ = ਮਨ ਤੋਂ। ਕੁਸੁਧਾ = ਖੋਟੀਆਂ।

ਰੀਸਾ ਕਰਿਹ ਤਿਨਾੜੀਆ ਜੋ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਦਰੁ ਖੜੀਆਹ ॥

We imitate those who stand and serve at the Lord's Door.

(ਫਿਰ ਭੀ) ਅਸੀਂ ਰੀਸਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਿਤਨਾੜੀਆ = ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ। ਸੇਵਹਿ ਦਰੁ = ਬੂਹਾ ਮੱਲੀ ਬੈਠੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਨਾਲਿ ਖਸਮੈ ਰਤੀਆ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਰਲੀਆਹ ॥

They are attuned to the Love of their Husband Lord, and they experience the pleasure of His Love.

ਖਸਮ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਵਿਚ ਭਿੱਜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤੇ ਆਨੰਦ ਵਿਚ ਰਲੀਆਂ ਮਾਣਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਹੋਦੈ ਤਾਣਿ ਨਿਤਾਣੀਆ ਰਹਹਿ ਨਿਮਾਨਣੀਆਹ ॥

They remain powerless, even while they have power; they remain humble and meek.

ਜੋ ਤਾਣ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਭੀ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
