ਤੋਟਕ ਛੰਦ:
ਜਬ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਲਾਲ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਗਹੀ ॥
I cannot describe how gracefully goddess
ਜਦੋਂ ਕਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਪਕੜੀ,
ਨਹਿ ਮੋ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਾ ਤਿਹ ਜਾਤ ਕਹੀ ॥
Kali brandished the sword in her hand,
ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਦਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਵਰਣਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਤਿਹ ਤੇਜੁ ਲਖੇ ਭਟ ਯੌ ਭਟਕੇ ॥
The heroes took to their heels
ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤੇਜ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਭਜ ਗਏ
ਮਨੋ ਸੂਰ ਚੜਿਯੋ ਉਡ ਸੇ ਸਟਕੇ ॥੨੬॥
The way the stars hide themselves when the Sun becomes apparent.(26)
ਮਾਨੋ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਨ ਨਾਲ ਤਾਰੇ ਲੁਕ ਗਏ ਹੋਣ ॥੨੬॥
ਕੁਪਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ਕਰੰ ਗਹਿ ਕੈ ॥
Holding the sword, and in flare, she jumped into the hordes of demons.
ਕਾਲੀ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਨਾਲ
ਦਲ ਦੈਤਨ ਬੀਚ ਪਰੀ ਕਹਿ ਕੈ ॥
Holding the sword, and in flare, she jumped into the hordes of demons.
ਦੈਂਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਵਿਚ ਕੁਦ ਪਈ,
ਘਟਿਕਾ ਇਕ ਬੀਚ ਸਭੋ ਹਨਿਹੌਂ ॥
She proclaimed to exterminate all the champions in a single stroke,
ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਕਿ ਇਕ ਘੜੀ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁਟਾਂਗੀ
ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਨਹਿ ਏਕ ਬਲੀ ਗਨਿਹੌਂ ॥੨੭॥
And would leave none to become eminent combatants.(27)
ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਇਕ ਵੀ ਬਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿਆਂਗੀ ॥੨੭॥
