ਝੂਲਨਾ ਛੰਦ:

ਲੀਯੋ ਪਾਨਿ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੈ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਜੂ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਸਤ੍ਰੁ ਕੀ ਸੈਨ ਕੁਟੀ ॥

Krishna took the discus in his hand in anger and chopped enemy’s army, the earth trembled because of the dreadfulness of war

ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਚੱਕਰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਕੁਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।

ਮਹੀ ਚਾਲ ਕੀਨੋ ਦਸੋ ਨਾਗ ਭਾਗੇ ਰਮਾ ਨਾਥ ਜਾਗੇ ਹਰਹਿ ਡੀਠ ਛੁਟੀ ॥

All the ten Nagas ran away, Vishnu awoke from his sleep and the meditation of Shiva was impaired

ਧਰਤੀ ਡੋਲ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਦਸਾਂ ਦਿਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਰੂਪ ਹਾਥੀ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਲੱਛਮੀ-ਪਤੀ (ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ) ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਧੀ ਟੁਟ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਘਨੀ ਮਾਰ ਸੰਘਾਰਿ ਬਿਦਾਰ ਕੀਨੀ ਘਨੀ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਕੋ ਦੇਖ ਕੈ ਸੈਨ ਫੁਟੀ ॥

Krishna killed the army rushing like clouds, a great part of the army was divided into fragments on seeing Krishna

ਬਹੁਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਮਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੈਨਾ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਤਿੱਤਰ ਬਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਘਨੀ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਾਚੀ ਤਹਾ ਕਾਲਿ ਨਾਚੀ ਘਨੇ ਜੁਧ ਕਉ ਛਾਡਿ ਕੈ ਬੀਰ ਭਾਗੇ ॥

A dreadful war began there, the death danced and the warriors, leaving the battle, ran away

(ਰਣ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ) ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਰ ਮਚੀ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਕਾਲੀ (ਦੇਵੀ) ਨਚੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਯੁੱਧ ਨੂੰ (ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਯੋਧੇ ਭਜ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕੇ ਲਾਗਤੇ ਹੀ ਐਸੇ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਭਾਖੈ ਘਨਿਯੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਤ︀ਯਾਗੇ ॥

With the infliction of the arrows of Krishna many breathed there last

(ਕਵੀ) ਸ਼ਿਆਮ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਜਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਛਡ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ।

ਘਨਿਯੋ ਹਾਥ ਕਾਟੇ ਗਿਰੇ ਪੇਟ ਫਾਟੈ ਫਿਰੈ ਬੀਰ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਮੈ ਬਾਨ ਲਾਗੇ ॥

Hands of many were amputated, many fell on the ground with exploded bellies, and those pierced with arrows were roaming in the battlefield.

ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਕਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਕਈ ਪਾਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਪੇਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਡਿਗੇ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਬਾਣ ਵਜੇ ਹਨ (ਉਹ) ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ ਘੁੰਮ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

ਜਬੈ ਸ︀ਯਾਮ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਮ︀ਯਾਨੇ ਲੀਯੋ ਪਾਨਿ ਸੰਭਾਰ ਕੈ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਭਾਰੀ ॥

When Krishna and Balram took the discus and the sword in their hands, then someone went pulling his bow and

ਜਦੋਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਭਾਰੀ ਚੱਕਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,

ਕੇਊ ਬਾਨ ਕਮਾਨ ਕੋ ਤਾਨ ਧਾਏ ਕੇਊ ਢਾਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲ ਮੁਗਦ੍ਰ ਕਟਾਰੀ ॥

Someone went holding the shield, trident, mace or dagger

ਉਦੋਂ ਕਈ ਬਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਾਨ ਤਾਣ ਕੇ ਆ ਪਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈ ਢਾਲ, ਤ੍ਰਿਸੂਲ, ਮੁਗਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਟਾਰ (ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆ ਪਏ ਹਨ)।

ਜਰਾਸੰਧਿ ਕੀ ਫਉਜ ਮੈ ਚਾਲ ਪਾਰੀ ਬਲੀ ਦਉਰ ਕੈ ਠਉਰਿ ਸੈਨਾ ਸੰਘਾਰੀ ॥

There was consternation in the army of Jarasandh, becase the mighty Krishna ran hither and thither to kill the army

ਜਰਾਸੰਧ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਹਲਚਲ ਮਚ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਮਚੀ ਮਾਰਿ ਘਮਕਾਰਿ ਤਲਵਾਰਿ ਬਰਛੀ ਗਦਾ ਛੁਰੀ ਜਮਧਰਨ ਅਰਿ ਦਲ ਸੰਘਾਰੇ ॥

There was terrible destruction with the swords, lances, maces, daggers, axes etc. and the enemy’s army was being killed

ਬਹੁਤ ਘਮਸਾਨ ਯੁੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ, ਬਰਛੀ, ਗਦਾ, ਛੁਰੀ, ਜਮਧਾੜ (ਆਦਿ ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ) ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰੀ ਦਲ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।

ਬਢੀ ਸ੍ਰਉਨ ਸਲਤਾ ਬਹੇ ਜਾਤ ਗਜ ਬਾਜ ਰਥ ਮੁੰਡ ਕਰਿ ਸੁੰਡ ਭਟ ਤੁੰਡ ਨਿਆਰੇ ॥

The flowing stream of blood was flooded, the elephants, horses, chariots, heads and trunks of elephants were seen flowing in it

ਲਹੂ ਦੀ ਨਦੀ ਭਰ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਹਾਥੀ, ਘੋੜੇ, ਰਥ, ਮੁੰਡ, ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੁੰਡ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਵਖਰੇ ਵਖਰੇ ਰੁੜ੍ਹੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।

ਤ੍ਰਸੇ ਭੂਤ ਬੈਤਾਲ ਭੈਰਵਿ ਭਗੀ ਜੁਗਨੀ ਪੈਰ ਖਪਰਿ ਉਲਟਿ ਉਰਿ ਸੁ ਧਾਰੇ ॥

The ghosts, Vaitala and Bhairavas become thirsty and the Yoginis also ran away with overturned bowls

(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਭੂਤ, ਬੈਤਾਲ, ਭੈਰਉ ਡਰ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੋਗਣਾਂ ਖਪਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਲਟਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਛਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਭਜ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
