ਚੌਪਈ:
ਕਹਿ ਐਸੇ ਆਇਸਹਿ ਪਠਾਯੋ ॥
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇ ਕੇ (ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ) ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਆਪ ਤਵਨ ਸੋ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥
As per the plan she acted (hid away husband) and, herself, she made love (with the ascetic).
ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਉਸ (ਜੋਗੀ) ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕਰਨ ਲਗੀ।
ਆਵਤ ਪਤਿਹਿ ਦੁਰਾਯੋ ਤਾ ਕੋ ॥
As per the plan she acted (hid away husband) and, herself, she made love (with the ascetic).
ਪਤੀ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਆਪ ਬਚਨ ਭਾਖ︀ਯੋ ਇਮਿ ਵਾ ਕੋ ॥੭॥
When her husband emerged from hiding, she hid away the ascetic and said to him,(7)
ਅਤੇ ਆਪ ਉਸ (ਪਤੀ) ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗੀ ॥੭॥
ਸੁਨੋ ਨਾਥ ਇਕ ਕਥਾ ਉਚਰੋ ॥
When her husband emerged from hiding, she hid away the ascetic and said to him,(7)
ਹੇ ਪਤੀ ਦੇਵ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਇਕ ਗੱਲ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ,
ਤੁਮ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਕ ਚਿਤ ਮੈ ਡਰੋ ॥
‘Oh, my love, dreadfully, I want to tell you a tale.
ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮਨ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
ਕੋਪ ਏਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਕਹ ਜਾਗ︀ਯੋ ॥
ਇਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਗੁੱਸਾ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ
ਨਿਜੁ ਚੇਲਾ ਕਹ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਾਗ︀ਯੋ ॥੮॥
‘An ascetic flying in the rage, started to beat his disciple,(8)
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਗਾ ॥੮॥
ਮੈ ਜੁਗਿਯਾ ਕਹ ਦਯੋ ਹਟਾਈ ॥
ਮੈਂ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ,
ਵਾ ਚੇਲਾ ਕਹ ਲਯੋ ਛਪਾਈ ॥
‘I persuaded the ascetic to spare him and hid away the disciple.
ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਚਲਹੁ ਨਾਥ ਉਠਿ ਤੁਮੈ ਦਿਖਾਊ ॥
ਹੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ! ਚਲੋ, ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਵਾਂ
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਸਿਰਾਊ ॥੯॥
‘Now, come and I will show you to eliminate your doubt.(9)
ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਹਿਰਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਕਰਾਂ ॥੯॥
