ਚੌਪਈ:
ਯਹ ਜੜ ਫੂਲਿ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥
ਉਹ ਮੂਰਖ (ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੀ) ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਫੁਲ ਜਾਂਦਾ
ਅਧਿਕ ਆਪੁ ਕਹ ਸਾਧੁ ਕਹਾਵੈ ॥
The fool used to get flattered on hearing this and started to designate himself as a saint.
ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਾਧ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ।
ਵਹ ਜਾਰਨ ਸੌ ਨਿਸੁ ਦਿਨ ਰਹਈ ॥

ਉਹ (ਇਸਤਰੀ) ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਯਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ
ਇਹ ਕਛੁ ਤਿਨੈ ਨ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਹਈ ॥੫॥
She was always relishing with her lovers and he never opened his mouth to reprimand her.(5)(1)
ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ॥੫॥
