ਚੌਪਈ:
ਭੂਲ ਪਠਾਨ ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਹੀ ਆਯੋ ॥
Forgetting the turn, one day the Pathan came in before anybody else.
(ਇਕ ਵਾਰ) ਪਠਾਨ ਭੁਲ ਕੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਪੁਨਿ ਸੈਯਦ ਮੁਖਿ ਆਨਿ ਦਿਖਾਯੋ ॥
Following him the Sayeed entered as well.
ਫਿਰ ਸੱਯਦ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਿਖਾਈ।
ਲੈ ਸੁ ਪਠਾਨ ਖਾਟ ਤਰ ਦੀਨੋ ॥
She made the Path an to hide under the bed
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਪਠਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਜੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਸੈਯਦਹਿ ਲਾਇ ਗਰੇ ਸੌ ਲੀਨੋ ॥੬॥
And took Sayeed in an embrace.( 6)
ਅਤੇ ਸੱਯਦ ਨੂੰ ਗਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਗਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੬॥
ਸੇਖ ਸੈਯਦ ਕੇ ਪਾਛੇ ਆਯੋ ॥
Incidentally, immediately after the Sayeed the Sheikh walked in,
ਸ਼ੇਖ ਸੱਯਦ ਦੇ ਪਿਛੋਂ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਘਾਸ ਬਿਖੈ ਸੈਯਦਹਿ ਛਪਾਯੋ ॥
And she hid the Sayeed in hay.
(ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ) ਸੱਯਦ ਨੂੰ ਘਾਹ ਵਿਚ ਲੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਤਬ ਲੌ ਮੁਗਲ ਆਇ ਹੀ ਗਯੋ ॥
The Mughal was not far off and seeing him
ਤਦ ਤਕ ਮੁਗ਼ਲ ਵੀ ਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਸੇਖਹਿ ਡਾਰਿ ਗੋਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਦੀਯੋ ॥੭॥
She entrapped the Sheikh in an hessian bag.(7)
(ਤਾਂ) ਸ਼ੇਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਬੋਰੀ ('ਗੋਨਿ') ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੭॥
