ਹੁਣ 'ਦੁਧੀਰਾ' ਸਤਾਰ੍ਹਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ

ਤੋਟਕ ਛੰਦ:
ਕਰਿ ਸੋਰਸਵੋ ਰਿਖਿ ਤਾਸੁ ਗੁਰੰ ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਲ੍ਹਵਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਕੇ
ਉਠਿ ਚਲੀਆ ਬਾਟ ਉਦਾਸ ਚਿਤੰ ॥
After adopting the vulture as the seventeenth Guru with unattached mind, Dutt proceeded again on his path
(ਦੱਤ) ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਉਦਾਸ ਚਿਤ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਹ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ।
ਮੁਖਿ ਪੂਰਤ ਨਾਦਿ ਨਿਨਾਦ ਧੁਨੰ ॥
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮੂੰਹ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਰੰਤਰ ਧੁਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
ਸੁਨਿ ਰੀਝਤ ਗੰਧ੍ਰਬ ਦੇਵ ਨਰੰ ॥੩੬੫॥
He was producing various types of sounds form his mouth and hearing the same, the gods, Gandharvas, men and women, all were getting pleased.365.
(ਇਹ ਗੱਲ) ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਗੰਧਰਬ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੩੬੫॥
ਚਲਿ ਜਾਤ ਭਏ ਸਰਿਤਾ ਨਿਕਟੰ ॥
ਜਾਂਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਜਾ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ
ਹਠਵੰਤ ਰਿਖੰ ਤਪਸਾ ਬਿਕਟ ॥
ਜੋ ਹਠ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਠੋਰ ਤਪਸਵੀ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਸੀ।
ਅਵਿਲੋਕ ਦੁਧੀਰਯਾ ਏਕ ਤਹਾ ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਉਥੇ ਇਕ 'ਦੁਧੀਰਾ' ਪੰਛੀ ਵੇਖਿਆ,
ਉਛਰੰਤ ਹੁਤੇ ਨਦਿ ਮਛ ਜਹਾ ॥੩੬੬॥
The persistent and ascetic sage reached near a stream, where he saw a flying bird named ‘Mahiggir’ near the jumping fish.366.
ਜਿਥੇ ਨਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਮਛਲੀਆਂ ਉਛਲ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੩੬੬॥
ਥਰਕੰਤ ਹੁਤੋ ਇਕ ਚਿਤ ਨਭੰ ॥
(ਉਹ ਪੰਛੀ) ਇਕ ਚਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਥਿਰਕ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਅਤਿ ਉਜਲ ਅੰਗ ਸੁਰੰਗ ਸੁਭੰ ॥
With concentrated mind, he was stable at one place in the sky and his limbs were extremely white and pretty
ਉਹ ਬੜੇ ਉਜਲੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਹਣੇ ਰੰਗ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ।
ਨਹੀ ਆਨਿ ਬਿਲੋਕਤ ਆਪ ਦ੍ਰਿਗੰ ॥
ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਰਹ︀ਯੋ ਗਡ ਮਛ ਮਨੰ ॥੩੬੭॥
His mind was absorbed in the fish and he was not seeing anyone else.367.
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਗਡਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ॥੩੬੭॥
ਤਹਾ ਜਾਇ ਮਹਾ ਮੁਨਿ ਮਜਨ ਕੈ ॥
ਉਥੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮਹਾ ਮੁਨੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ਼ਨਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ
ਉਠਿ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਗਾ ਸੁਚ ਕੈ ॥
These the Guru went and took bath and getting up mediated on the Lord,
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਸੁਚੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹਰਿ ਦੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿਚ ਉਠ ਕੇ ਲਗ ਗਿਆ।
ਨ ਟਰੋ ਤਬ ਲੌ ਵਹ ਮਛ ਅਰੀ ॥
ਉਹ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਵੈਰੀ ਇੰਨੇ ਚਿਰ ਤਕ ਵੀ ਉਥੋਂ ਹਟਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
ਰਥ ਸੂਰ ਅਥਿਓ ਨਹ ਡੀਠ ਟਰੀ ॥੩੬੮॥
But that enemy of the fish, concentrated his attention on the fish even till sunset.368.
ਸੂਰਜ ਦਾ ਰਥ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੁਰ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ (ਭਾਵ ਰਾਤ ਪੈ ਗਈ ਹੈ) ਪਰ ਦੁਧੀਰੇ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ (ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਟਲੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ॥੩੬੮॥
ਥਰਕੰਤ ਰਹਾ ਨਭਿ ਮਛ ਕਟੰ ॥
ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਟਣ (ਖਾਣ) ਵਾਲਾ (ਦੁਧੀਰਾ) ਉਥੇ ਥਿਰਕਦਾ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ।
ਰਥ ਭਾਨੁ ਹਟਿਓ ਨਹੀ ਧ︀ਯਾਨ ਛੁਟੰ ॥
He remained unwavered in the sky and did not even think of the sunset
ਸੂਰਜ ਦਾ ਰਥ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਟਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੁਟਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਅਵਿਲੋਕ ਮਹਾ ਮੁਨਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਰਹਿਓ ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਮਹਾ ਮੁਨੀ ਮੋਹਿਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਸਤ੍ਰਸਵੋ ਕਰ ਤਾਸੁ ਕਹਿਓ ॥੩੬੯॥
Seeing him, the great sage observed silence and accepted him as the Seventeenth Guru.369.
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਤਾਰ੍ਹਵਾਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਹਿ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੩੬੯॥
ਇਤਿ ਸਤਾਰਵੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਧੀਰਾ ਸਮਾਪਤੰ ॥੧੭॥
