ਚੌਪਈ:
ਜਬ ਤ੍ਰਿਯ ਅਧਿਕ ਦੁਖ︀ਯ ਤਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
ਜਦ 'ਤ੍ਰਿਯ' (ਭਾਵ ਮੇਰੇ) ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਦੁਖ ਪਾਇਆ
ਪ੍ਰਾਨਾਕੁਲ ਹਮ ਕੂਕ ਸੁਨਾਯੋ ॥
‘When the woman in me was very much aggrieved, she became irritated and pronounced,
ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਣਾਂ ਲਈ ਵਿਆਕੁਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਰਲਾਈ
ਜੋ ਯਾ ਦੁਖ ਤੇ ਬੈਦ ਉਸਾਰੈ ॥
‘When the woman in me was very much aggrieved, she became irritated and pronounced,
ਕਿ ਜੋ ਬੈਦ (ਵਿਅਕਤੀ) ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੁਖ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਏਗਾ,
ਸੋ ਹਮਰੋ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਨਾਥ ਬਿਹਾਰੈ ॥੧੯॥
“Who-so-ever saved her, would become her husband.”(l9)
ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਰਮਣ ਕਰੇਗਾ ॥੧੯॥
