ਮੁਹਰ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਟਕਾ ਕੋ ਲੇਵਈ ॥

When the benevolence of gold coins is available, who would accept the ones of base metal?

(ਜੇ) ਮੋਹਰ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਭਲਾ ਟਕਾ ਕੌਣ ਲਏਗਾ।

ਬਿਨੁ ਦੀਨੇ ਧਨ ਸਰੈ ਤ ਕੋ ਧਨ ਦੇਵਈ ॥

If one abandons the opulence, why would one go after wealth?

(ਜੇ) ਬਿਨਾ ਧਨ ਦਿੱਤੇ (ਕੰਮ) ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੌਣ ਧਨ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

ਧਨੀ ਤ︀ਯਾਗਿ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਕੇ ਕੋ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਜਾਵਈ ॥

Who would like to go to poor man’s house after leaving the richman?

ਧਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ ਗ਼ਰੀਬ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਕੌਣ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
