ਦੋਹਰਾ:
ਰਨ ਡਾਕਿਨਿ ਡਹਕਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਕਹਕਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਮਸਾਨ ॥
Belching witches and howling ghosts started to roam around.
ਰਣ ਵਿਚ ਡਾਕਣੀਆਂ ਡਕਾਰਦੀਆਂ ਫਿਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ('ਮਸਾਨ') ਕਿਲਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਮਾਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਬਿਨੁ ਸੀਸਨ ਡੋਲਤ ਸੁਭਟ ਗਹਿ ਗਹਿ ਕਰਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨ ॥੪੦॥
The heroes with decapitated heads went around the fields with swords in their hands.( 40)
ਬਿਨਾ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਨਾਂ ਪਕੜ ਪਕੜ ਕੇ (ਯੁੱਧ-ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿਚ) ਘੁੰਮ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੪੦॥
ਅਸਿ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਾਢੇ ਕਰਨ ਲਰਹਿ ਸੁਭਟ ਸਮੁਹਾਇ ॥
Numerous champions with unsheathed swords were fighting face to face,
ਹੱਥਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਅਨੇਕ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਕਢ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਲਰਿ ਗਿਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਭੂ ਪਰ ਪਰੈ ਬਰੈ ਬਰੰਗਨਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੪੧॥
Raiding and combating to death, and praying to the Fairy goddess, rolled down on the earth.( 41)
ਲੜਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਭੂਮੀ ਉਤੇ ਮਰ ਕੇ ਡਿਗ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਅਪੱਛਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ॥੪੧॥
ਅਨਤਰਯਾ ਜ︀ਯੋ ਸਿੰਧੁ ਕੋ ਚਹਤ ਤਰਨ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
The one who could not swim, how could he, without a boat and
(ਹੇ ਦੇਵੀ!) ਅਣਤਾਰੂ ਜੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਰ ਕੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੇ
ਬਿਨੁ ਨੌਕਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਤਰੈ ਲਏ ਤਿਹਾਰੋ ਨਾਉ ॥੪੨॥
Support of your Name, swim across the sea?(42)
ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈਣ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਤਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੨॥
ਮੂਕ ਉਚਰੈ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਖਟ ਪਿੰਗ ਗਿਰਨ ਚੜਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
How could a dumb narrate the Six Shastras, a lame person could climb
(ਹੇ ਦੇਵੀ!) ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਗੁੰਗਾ ਛੇ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਉਚਾਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਿੰਗਲਾ ਪਰਬਤ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਅੰਧ ਲਖੈ ਬਦਰੋ ਸੁਨੈ ਜੋ ਤੁਮ ਕਰੌ ਸਹਾਇ ॥੪੩॥
Up the mountains, a blind man could see, and a deaf could hear?( 43)
ਅੰਨ੍ਹਾ ਵੇਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲਾ ਸੁਣ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੪੩॥
ਅਰਘ ਗਰਭ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਨ ਕੋ ਭੇਦ ਨ ਪਾਯੋ ਜਾਇ ॥
The wonders of a child during pregnancy, a Raja and a female are unfathomable.
ਮੋਤੀ ('ਅਰਘ') ਗਰਭ, ਰਾਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦਾ ਭੇਦ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ।
ਤਊ ਤਿਹਾਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਕਛੁ ਕਛੁ ਕਹੋ ਬਨਾਇ ॥੪੪॥
With Your blessings I have narrated this, although with a bit of exaggeration.( 44)
ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਕੁਝ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ॥੪੪॥
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਮਾਨਿ ਤੁਮ ਕੋ ਕਹੋ ਜਥਾ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
Believing You be the omnipresent, I say, that I have rendered this
ਪਹਿਲਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਾ ਕੇ ਯਥਾ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਬਲ (ਰਚਨਾ) ਕਥਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਘਟਿ ਕਬਿਤਾ ਲਖਿ ਕੈ ਕਬਹਿ ਹਾਸ ਨ ਕਰਿਯਹੁ ਕੋਇ ॥੪੫॥
With my limited understanding, and I prey not to laugh it off.( 45)
(ਜੇ) ਕਵਿਤਾ ਵਿਚ ਹੇ ਕਵੀਓ! ਕੋਈ ਘਾਟ ਲਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਹਾਸੀ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੪੫॥
ਪ੍ਰਥਮ ਧ︀ਯਾਇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਵਤੀ ਬਰਨੌ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ॥
To commence with, with devotion to the Reverend Faculty, I narrate the Female Wonders.
ਪਹਿਲਾ ਅਧਿਆਇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਭਗਵਤੀ (ਦਾ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੁਣ) ਤ੍ਰਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਗ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
ਮੋ ਘਟ ਮੈ ਤੁਮ ਹ੍ਵੈ ਨਦੀ ਉਪਜਹੁ ਬਾਕ ਤਰੰਗ ॥੪੬॥
O the Passionless Universal Prowess, enable me to render the waves of narrative through my heart.( 46)
(ਹੇ ਦੇਵੀ!) ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਦੀ ਬਣ ਜਾਓ, (ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਵਾਕ ਰੂਪੀ ਤਰੰਗਾਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣ ॥੪੬॥
