ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੫ ॥
Salok, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਲੋਕ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ।
ਜੀਵਦਿਆ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਮੁਆ ਰਲੰਦੜੋ ਖਾਕ ॥
Those who do not remember the Lord while they are alive, shall mix with the dust when they die.
ਜਿਤਨਾ ਚਿਰ ਜੀਊਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਰਲ ਗਿਆ;
ਨਾਨਕ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਗੁਦਾਰਿਆ ਸਾਕਤ ਮੂੜ ਨਪਾਕ ॥੧॥
O Nanak, the foolish and filthy faithless cynic passes his life engrossed in the world. ||1||
ਤੇ, ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਐਸੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਗੰਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ (ਜੀਵਨ ਅਜਾਈਂ) ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਸਾਕਤ = ਰੱਬ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਟੁੱਟਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਮੂੜ = ਮੂਰਖ। ਨਪਾਕ = ਗੰਦਾ ॥੧॥
