ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਦੋਹਰਾ:
ਸਸਤ੍ਰ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਘੋਰਾ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਸੰਗ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
‘Neither I have arms, nor I possess any horses. I have no companion.
(ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ) ਅਸਤ੍ਰ, ਸ਼ਸਤ੍ਰ, ਅਤੇ ਘੋੜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਗੀ ਸਾਥੀ ਹੈ।
ਅਤਿ ਮੁਸਕਿਲ ਮੋ ਕੌ ਬਨੀ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੧੭॥
‘I am plunged in a great predicament. Now, only God can help me.(17)
ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਲ ਬਣ ਗਈ ਹੈ, (ਹੁਣ ਜੋ) ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਉਹੀ ਹੋਏਗਾ ॥੧੭॥
ਸਾਥੀ ਕੋਊ ਸੰਗ ਨਹੀ ਕਾ ਸੋ ਕਰੋ ਪੁਕਾਰ ॥
‘I have no friend, who could cry for help?
ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਸਾਥੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸ ਅਗੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਰਾਂ।
ਮਨਸਾ ਬਾਚਾ ਕਰਮਨਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਹਨਿ ਹੈ ਨਿਰਧਾਰ ॥੧੮॥
‘To prove her words, she must have ascertained to terminate me.’(18)
ਮਨ, ਬਚਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਿਸਚੇ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ॥੧੮॥
ਖਾਇ ਮਿਠਾਈ ਰਾਵ ਤਬ ਦੀਯੋ ਪਿਟਾਰੋ ਦਾਨ ॥
The Raja savoured some sweetment and, then, bestowed the rest of the basket with benediction.
ਤਦ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਮਠਿਆਈ ਖਾ ਕੇ ਪਿਟਾਰਾ ਦਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਵਹ ਬਿਵਾਹਿ ਤਿਹ ਲੈ ਗਯੋ ਅਧਿਕ ਹ੍ਰਿਦੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਨਿ ॥੧੯॥
Thereafter, he married her and with great satisfaction took her with him.(l9)
(ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਜੋਗੀ) ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ॥੧੯॥
ਦੁਹਿਤ ਜਾਮਾਤਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਜੀਯਤ ਦਯੋ ਪਠਾਇ ॥
The woman bade goodbye to her daughter along with the son-in-law,
ਲੜਕੀ ਸਮੇਤ ਜਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਉਥੋਂ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਭਿਜਵਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਸਭ ਦੇਖਤ ਦਿਨ ਕਾਢਿਯੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪਹਿ ਮਠਾਈ ਖ੍ਵਾਇ ॥੨੦॥
And she accomplished this just by making Raja to eat some sweetments.(20)
ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਠਿਆਈ ਖਵਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਦਿਨ ਦਿਹਾੜੇ ਕਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੨੦॥
