ਚੌਪਈ:
ਅਧਿਕ ਤਵਨ ਸੌ ਨੇਹ ਲਗਾਯੋ ॥
ਉਸ ਨਾਲ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੀਤਾ
ਸਮੈ ਪਾਇ ਕਰਿ ਕੇਲ ਮਚਾਯੋ ॥
She loved him intensively and, in due course, had commenced to have sex with him.
ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਂ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਰਤੀ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਤਬ ਲੌ ਆਵਤ ਪਟੂਆ ਭਯੋ ॥

ਉਦੋਂ ਤਕ ਪਟੂਆ ਆ ਗਿਆ,
ਮਿਤ੍ਰਹਿ ਡਾਰਿ ਮਾਟ ਮਹਿ ਦਯੋ ॥੩॥
Incidentally her husband appeared and she hid the friend in large earthen pitcher.(3)
ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਮਟ ਵਿਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੩॥
ਦ੍ਵੈ ਤਰਬੂਜਨਿ ਰਖਿ ਘਟ ਮਾਹੀ ॥
Incidentally her husband appeared and she hid the friend in large earthen pitcher.(3)
ਦੋ ਤਰਬੂਜ਼ (ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਘੜੇ ਵਿਚ ਰਖ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
ਇਕ ਕਾਟ︀ਯੋ ਕਾਟ︀ਯੋ ਇਕ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
She put two melons in the pitcher; one was cut and the other whole.
ਇਕ ਨੂੰ ਕਟ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਕਟਿਆ।
ਗੁਦਾ ਭਖ੍ਰਯੋ ਖਪਰ ਸਿਰ ਧਰਿਯੋ ॥
(ਇਕ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਗੁਦਾ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਖਪਰ ਸਿਰ ਉਤੇ ਧਰ ਲਿਆ
ਦੁਤਿਯਾ ਲੈ ਤਿਹ ਊਪਰ ਜਰਿਯੋ ॥੪॥
After taking the pulp out, the shell was put on his head and the other whole was put on top of it.( 4)
ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਤਰਬੂਜ਼ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਉਪਰ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ॥੪॥
ਇਹੀ ਬਿਖੈ ਪਟੂਆ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਆਯੋ ॥

ਇਤਨੇ ਵਿਚ ਪਟੂਆ ਘਰ ਆ ਗਿਆ
ਬੈਠਿ ਖਾਟ ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਮੁਦ ਬਢਾਯੋ ॥
In the meantime silk-weaver walked in the house, he sat down on the bedstead and showered love.
ਅਤੇ ਮੰਜੇ ਉਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੋਇਆ।
ਕਹਿਯੋ ਭਛ ਕਛੁ ਤਰੁਨਿ ਤਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
In the meantime silk-weaver walked in the house, he sat down on the bedstead and showered love.
ਕਹਿਣ ਲਗਾ ਹੇ ਇਸਤਰੀ! ਤੇਰੇ ਪਾਸ ਕੁਝ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਹੈ
ਅਬ ਆਗੇ ਤਿਹ ਧਰਹੁ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥੫॥
He said to the woman what ever she had brought that for him to eat(5)
ਤਾਂ ਹੁਣੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਗੇ ਲਿਆ ਰਖ ॥੫॥
ਜਬ ਇਹ ਭਾਤਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਸੁਨ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
ਜਦ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ
ਕਾਟਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਤਰਬੂਜ ਖੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
When she heard him say so, she cut the melon and gave him to eat.
ਤਾਂ ਤਰਬੂਜ਼ ਕਟ ਕੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਖੁਆਇਆ।
ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਲੇਤ ਤਿਹ ਕੌ ਅਤਿ ਡਰਾ ॥
ਮਿਤਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ (ਵੇਖ ਕੇ) ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰਿਆ
ਹਮਰੋ ਘਾਤ ਤ੍ਰਿਯਾ ਇਨ ਕਰਾ ॥੬॥
The friend got scared that the woman might kill him now.(6)
ਕਿ (ਹੁਣ) ਇਹ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਰਵਾ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ ॥੬॥
ਕਾਟਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਤਰਬੂਜ ਖੁਲਾਯੋ ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਪਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਰਬੂਜ਼ ਕਟ ਕੇ ਖੁਆਇਆ
ਪੁਨਿ ਪਟੂਆ ਸੌ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥
But she cut the melon, enabled him (husband) to eat and then had sex.
ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਪਟੂਆ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਕੇਲ ਕਮਾਇ ਟਾਰਿ ਤਿਹ ਦਯੋ ॥
ਕਾਮ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ
ਮਿਤ੍ਰਹਿ ਕਾਢਿ ਖਾਟ ਪਰ ਲਯੋ ॥੭॥
After making love she sent him out. Then she got the friend out and they sat down on the bed.(7)
ਅਤੇ ਮਿਤਰ ਨੂੰ (ਮਟ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਕਢ ਕੇ ਮੰਜੇ ਉਤੇ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ ॥੭॥
ਬਹੁਰਿ ਮਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੌ ਭੋਗ ਕਮਾਯੋ ॥
After making love she sent him out. Then she got the friend out and they sat down on the bed.(7)
ਫਿਰ ਮਿਤਰ ਨਾਲ ਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ।
ਮੂਰਖ ਨਾਥ ਨ ਕਛੁ ਛਲ ਪਾਯੋ ॥
She made love with him and the foolish husband could not discern.
(ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮੂਰਖ ਪਤੀ ਇਸ ਛਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝ ਨਾ ਸਕਿਆ।
ਦੁਤਿਯ ਬਾਰ ਤਾ ਸੌ ਰਤਿ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਯਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੂਜੀ ਵਾਰ ਰਤੀ-ਕ੍ਰੀੜਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਦੂਜੇ ਕਾਨ ਨ ਕਿਨਹੂੰ ਜਾਨੀ ॥੮॥
She again had sex with him and no one could detect.(8)(1)
ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਤਕ ਨਾ ਹੋਈ ॥੮॥
