ਦੋਹਰਾ ॥

ਦੋਹਰਾ:
ਜੋ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨ︀ਯਾਇ ਕਰੈ ਨਹੀ ਬੋਲਤ ਝੂਠ ਬਨਾਇ ॥
‘The Raja who does not execute justice and depends on falsehood,
ਜੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਰਾਜ ਤ︀ਯਾਗ ਤਪਸ︀ਯਾ ਕਰੈ ਪਰੈ ਨਰਕ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੯੧॥
‘And, after forsaking governance, goes to meditate, he is destined for hell.(91)
ਰਾਜ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਤਪਸਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਉਹ) ਨਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ॥੯੧॥
ਬ੍ਰਿਧ ਮਾਤਾ ਅਰੁ ਤਾਤ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਿਯੋ ਨਿਤ ॥
‘He should have served his aging mother,
ਬਿਰਧ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਨਿੱਤ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੋ
ਤ︀ਯਾਗ ਨ ਬਨ ਕੋ ਜਾਇਯੈ ਯਹੈ ਧਰਮੁ ਸੁਨੁ ਮਿਤ ॥੯੨॥
‘Had listened to the righteousness and not gone to the jungle.(92)
ਅਤੇ (ਰਾਜ ਪਾਠ) ਛਡ ਕੇ ਬਨ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਜਾਓ। ਹੇ ਮਿਤਰ! ਸੁਣੋ, ਇਹੀ ਧਰਮ (ਕਾਰਜ) ਹੈ ॥੯੨॥
ਜੌ ਹੌ ਜੋਗੀ ਵਹੈ ਹੌ ਪਠੈ ਦਯੋ ਧ੍ਰਮਰਾਇ ॥
‘I am the same yogi, whom the Lord of Righteousness had sent.’
ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਜ ਨੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ,
ਹੌਂ ਈਹਾ ਬੋਲੈ ਤੁਰਤੁ ਅਪਨੋ ਰੂਪ ਛਪਾਇ ॥੯੩॥
Thus had spoken the one who had been hiding (behind the cove).(93)
ਤਾਂ ਤੁਰਤ ਆਪਣਾ ਰੂਪ ਛੁਪਾ ਕੇ ਇਥੇ ਬੋਲੇ ॥੯੩॥
ਜਬ ਜੋਗੀ ਐਸੇ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤਾਹਿ ਭੇਦ ਸਮੁਝਾਇ ॥
When the yogi had made the Raja to understand his explication,
ਜਦ ਜੋਗੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਤਾਂ (ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਭੇਦ ਸਮਝਾਇਆ ਸੀ,
ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਤਬ ਤਿਨ ਕਹਿਯੋ ਤੀਨ ਬਾਰ ਮੁਸਕਾਇ ॥੯੪॥
He smiled and repeated three times, ‘it is true.’(94)
ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੁਸਕਰਾ ਕੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਵਾਰ 'ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ' ਕਿਹਾ ॥੯੪॥
ਜਿਯਬੋ ਜਗ ਕੌ ਸਹਲ ਹੈ ਯਹੈ ਕਠਿਨ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਕਾਮ ॥
(And he continued) ‘It is easy to live in this world,
ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਜੀਉਣਾ ਸੌਖਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਠਿਨ ਹਨ
ਪ੍ਰਾਤ ਸੰਭਰਿਬੋ ਰਾਜ ਕੋ ਰਾਤਿ ਸੰਭਰਿਬੋ ਰਾਮ ॥੯੫॥
‘But, to run the reign during day and meditate at night, both are not two tiresome duties.’(95)
ਕਿ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਜਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਏ ॥੯੫॥
