ਅਥ ਬਾਲੀ ਦੁਆਦਸਮੋ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਥਨੰ ॥
Now begins the description of the adoption of a Girl as the Twelfth Guru
ਹੁਣ 'ਬਾਲੀ' ਬਾਰ੍ਹਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਕਥਨ

RASAAVAL STANZA
ਰਸਾਵਲ ਛੰਦ:
ਚਲਾ ਦਤ ਆਗੇ ॥
ਦੱਤ ਅਗੇ ਚਲ ਪਿਆ
ਲਖੇ ਪਾਪ ਭਾਗੇ ॥
Then Dutt moved further seeing him, the sins fled away
ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
ਬਜੈ ਘੰਟ ਘੋਰੰ ॥
ਘੋਰ ਘੰਟੇ ਵਜਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਬਣੰ ਜਾਣੁ ਮੋਰੰ ॥੨੫੬॥
The thunderous sound of the songs continued like the song of the peacocks in the forest.256.
ਮਾਨੋ ਬਨ ਵਿਚ ਮੋਰ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹੋਣ ॥੨੫੬॥
ਨਵੰ ਨਾਦ ਬਾਜੈ ॥
ਨਵੇਂ ਨਾਦ ਵਜਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਧਰਾ ਪਾਪ ਭਾਜੈ ॥
The horns were sounded in the sky and the sins of the earth ran away
ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਭਜ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਕਰੈ ਦੇਬ੍ਰਯ ਅਰਚਾ ॥
ਦੇਵੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
ਚਤੁਰ ਬੇਦ ਚਰਚਾ ॥੨੫੭॥
He made offerings to the goddess and there was the discussion about the four Vedas.257.
ਚੌਹਾਂ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੫੭॥
ਸ੍ਰੁਤੰ ਸਰਬ ਪਾਠੰ ॥
ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵੇਦਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਠ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਸੁ ਸੰਨ︀ਯਾਸ ਰਾਠੰ ॥
Recitation of all the Shrutis was performed for that Sannyas at the suitable place
ਉਹ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਦਾ ਰਾਠ ਹੈ,
ਮਹਾਜੋਗ ਨ︀ਯਾਸੰ ॥
ਮਹਾਨ ਯੋਗ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
ਸਦਾਈ ਉਦਾਸੰ ॥੨੫੮॥
The great practices of Yoga were held and there was atmosphere of detachment.258.
ਅਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਉਦਾਸ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੫੮॥
ਖਟੰ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਚਰਚਾ ॥
ਛੇਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ,
ਰਟੈ ਬੇਦ ਅਰਚਾ ॥
ਵੇਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਟਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,
ਮਹਾ ਮੋਨ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
ਮਹਾਨ ਮੌਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ
ਕਿ ਸੰਨ︀ਯਾਸ ਧਾਨੀ ॥੨੫੯॥
There was discussion of six Shastras and the recitation of the Vedas and the Sannyasis observed great silence.259.
ਅਤੇ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ ॥੨੫੯॥
ਚਲਾ ਦਤ ਆਗੈ ॥
ਦੱਤ ਅਗੇ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ,
ਲਖੇ ਪਾਪ ਭਾਗੈ ॥
Then Dutt move still further and seeing him, the sins fled away
(ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ) ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਭਜ ਗਏ।
ਲਖੀ ਏਕ ਕੰਨਿਆ ॥
(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਇਕ ਕੰਨਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਤਿਹੂੰ ਲੋਗ ਧੰਨਿਆ ॥੨੬੦॥
There he was a girl, making the three worlds blessed ones.260.
ਜੋ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ॥੨੬੦॥
ਮਹਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ॥
(ਦੱਤ) ਵੱਡਾ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਾਰੀ ਹੈ,
ਸੁ ਧਰਮਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ॥
ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹੈ।
ਲਖੀ ਪਾਨਿ ਵਾ ਕੇ ॥
ਉਸ (ਬਾਲਿਕਾ ਦੇ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ
ਗੁਡੀ ਬਾਲਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ॥੨੬੧॥
This authority of Dharma and the great celibate saw a doll in her hand.261.
ਇਕ ਗੁੱਡੀ ਵੇਖੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੬੧॥
ਖਿਲੈ ਖੇਲ ਤਾ ਸੋ ॥
(ਉਹ) ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡਦੀ ਹੈ।
ਇਸੋ ਹੇਤ ਵਾ ਸੋ ॥
(ਉਸ ਨਾਲ) ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿਤ ਹੈ
ਪੀਐ ਪਾਨਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥
ਕਿ (ਉਹ) ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ
ਇਸੋ ਖੇਲ ਭਾਵੈ ॥੨੬੨॥
She was playing with it and she loved it so much that she drank water and continued to play with it.262.
ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ (ਗੁੱਡੀ ਦੀ) ਖੇਡ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਚੰਗੀ ਲਗਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੨੬੨॥
ਗਏ ਮੋਨਿ ਮਾਨੀ ॥
ਮਹਾਨ ਮੌਨ ਵਾਲਾ (ਦੱਤ) ਉਥੇ ਗਿਆ
ਤਰੈ ਦਿਸਟ ਆਨੀ ॥
ਅਤੇ (ਉਸ ਬਾਲਕਾ ਨੂੰ) ਨਜ਼ਰ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ।
ਨ ਬਾਲਾ ਨਿਹਾਰ︀ਯੋ ॥
(ਪਰ ਉਸ) ਬਾਲਕਾ ਨੇ (ਇਸ ਵਲ) ਨਾ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ
ਨ ਖੇਲੰ ਬਿਸਾਰ︀ਯੋ ॥੨੬੩॥
All those silence-observing Yogis went to that side and they saw her, but that girl did not see them and did not stop playing,263.
ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਖੇਡ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ ॥੨੬੩॥
ਲਖੀ ਦਤ ਬਾਲਾ ॥
ਦੱਤ ਨੇ (ਉਹ) ਕੁੜੀ ਵੇਖੀ,
ਮਨੋ ਰਾਗਮਾਲਾ ॥
The teeth the girl were like the garland of flowers
ਮਾਨੋ ਰਾਗ ਮਾਲਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਰੰਗੀ ਰੰਗਿ ਖੇਲੰ ॥
ਉਹ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਚ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਗਨ ਸੀ,
ਮਨੋ ਨਾਗ੍ਰ ਬੇਲੰ ॥੨੬੪॥
She was absorbed in frolic like the creeper clinging to the tree.264.
ਮਾਨੋ ਪਾਨ ਦੀ ਬੇਲ (ਵਾਂਗ ਕੋਮਲ) ਹੋਵੇ ॥੨੬੪॥
ਤਬੈ ਦਤ ਰਾਯੰ ॥
ਤਦ ਦੱਤ ਰਾਜ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ
ਲਖੇ ਤਾਸ ਜਾਯੰ ॥
ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਧਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ (ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ)
ਗੁਰੂ ਤਾਸ ਕੀਨਾ ॥
ਮਹਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਵਿਚ (ਇੰਜ) ਭਿਜ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ
ਮਹਾ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਭੀਨਾ ॥੨੬੫॥
Then Dutt, seeing her, eulogized her and accepting her as his Guru, he was absorbed in his great mantra.265.
(ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹੀ ਇਹ ਬਾਲਕਾ ਖੇਡ ਵਿਚ ਭਿਜੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ) ॥੨੬੫॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਤਾਸ ਜਾਨ︀ਯੋ ॥
ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ।
ਇਮੰ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਠਾਨ੍ਰਯੋ ॥
He accepted her as his Guru and in this way, adopted the mantra
ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੰਤ੍ਰ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
ਦਸੰ ਦ੍ਵੈ ਨਿਧਾਨੰ ॥
ਬਾਰ੍ਹਵਾਂ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਰੂਪ ਗੁਰੂ
ਗੁਰੂ ਦਤ ਜਾਨੰ ॥੨੬੬॥
In this way, Dutt adopted his twelfth Guru.266.
ਦੱਤ ਨੇ (ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਜਾਣ ਲਿਆ ॥੨੬੬॥
