ਉਛਾਲ ਛੰਦ:
ਗਾਵਤ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਗਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਬਾਜਤ ਤਾਰੀ ॥
ਤਾਲੀਆਂ ਵਜਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਦੇਖਤ ਰਾਜਾ ॥
ਰਾਜਾ ਵੇਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
ਦੇਵਤ ਸਾਜਾ ॥੧੬॥
The women were singing with the clapping of their hands and the kings with the decoration of gods, were looking at them.16.
(ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ) ਸਜਾਵਟ ਦੇ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ॥੧੬॥
ਗਾਵਤ ਗੀਤੰ ॥
(ਉਹ) ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਆਨੰਦ ਚੀਤੰ ॥
ਚਿਤ ਵਿਚ ਆਨੰਦਿਤ ਸਨ।
ਸੋਭਤ ਸੋਭਾ ॥
ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਸ਼ੋਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਸਨ
ਲੋਭਤ ਲੋਭਾ ॥੧੭॥
The singing of songs continued with happy mind and seeing the glory of that place, even the mind of greed was becoming greedy.17.
ਅਤੇ ਲੋਭ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਲੋਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੧੭॥
ਦੇਖਤ ਨੈਣੰ ॥
(ਰਾਜਾ ਲੋਕ) ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਭਾਖਤ ਬੈਣੰ ॥
(ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ) ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਸੋਹਤ ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ॥
ਛਤ੍ਰੀ ਸ਼ੋਭ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਲੋਭਤ ਅਤ੍ਰੀ ॥੧੮॥
They were talking with the signs of their eyes and all the weapon wielders were looking splendid.18.
ਅਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ (ਵਾਲੇ ਸੂਰਮੇ) ਲੋਭੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੮॥
ਗਜਤ ਹਾਥੀ ॥
ਹਾਥੀ ਗਰਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਸਜਤ ਸਾਥੀ ॥
The elephants were thundering and the companions were bedecked
ਸਾਥੀ ਸਜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਕੂਦਤ ਬਾਜੀ ॥
ਘੋੜੇ ਕੁਦ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
ਨਾਚਤ ਤਾਜੀ ॥੧੯॥
The horses were jumping and dancing.19.
ਤਾਜੀ (ਨਸਲ ਦੇ ਘੋੜੇ) ਨਚ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ॥੧੯॥
ਬਾਜਤ ਤਾਲੰ ॥
ਤਾਲੀਆਂ ਵਜ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਨਾਚਤ ਬਾਲੰ ॥
ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨਚ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਗਾਵਤ ਗਾਥੰ ॥
ਗਾਥਾ ਗਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਆਨੰਦ ਸਾਥੰ ॥੨੦॥
The young damsels were dancing and were singing happily while clapping their hands.20.
ਆਨੰਦ ਸਹਿਤ (ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ) ॥੨੦॥
ਕੋਕਿਲ ਬੈਣੀ ॥
ਕੋਇਲ ਵਰਗੇ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ,
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨੈਣੀ ॥
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ,
ਗਾਵਤ ਗੀਤੰ ॥
ਗੀਤ ਗਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ,
ਚੋਰਤ ਚੀਤੰ ॥੨੧॥
These women of the voice of a nightingale and having beautiful eyes, were alluring the mind by singing the song.21.
ਚਿਤ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਰਾ ਲੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੨੧॥
ਅਛ੍ਰਣ ਭੇਸੀ ॥
ਅਪੱਛਰਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੇਸੀ ॥
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੇਸਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨੈਣੀ ॥
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਨੈਣਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਕੋਕਿਲ ਬੈਣੀ ॥੨੨॥
These women having beautiful hair, charming eyes and in the garb of heavenly damsels had the voice of a nightingale.22.
ਕੋਇਲ ਵਰਗੇ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੨੨॥
ਅਦਭੁਤ ਰੂਪਾ ॥
ਅਦਭੁਤ ਰੂਪ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਕਾਮਿਣ ਕੂਪਾ ॥
ਹਾਵਾਂ ਭਾਵਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੂਹ ਸਨ।
ਚਾਰੁ ਪ੍ਰਹਾਸੰ ॥
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹਾਸੇ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
ਉਨਤਿ ਨਾਸੰ ॥੨੩॥
These women had marvelous figures, full of desires, with bewitching smiles and long nostrils.23.
ਉੱਚੇ ਨਕਾਂ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਨ ॥੨੩॥
ਲਖਿ ਦੁਤਿ ਰਾਣੀ ॥
ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ
ਲਜਿਤ ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥
Seeing the beauty of the queens, the wife of Indra also felt shy
ਇੰਦ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਵੀ ਲਜਿਤ ਹੋ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
ਸੋਹਤ ਬਾਲਾ ॥
(ਉਹ) ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ੋਭਾਇਮਾਨ ਸਨ
ਰਾਗਣ ਮਾਲਾ ॥੨੪॥
These heavenly maidens were like the rosary of musical modes.24.
ਮਾਨੋ ਰਾਗਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਾ ਹੋਣ ॥੨੪॥
