ਸਵੈਯਾ ॥

Savaiyya

ਸਵੈਯਾ:

ਮਾਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਮਾਨੀ ਕਛੂ ਤਜਿ ਰੋਵਤ ਹੀ ਰਨਿਵਾਸਹਿ ਆਯੋ ॥

He did not agree to his mother, and, leaving her in distress, he came to the palace of Rani.

(ਉਸ ਨੇ) ਮਾਤਾ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਮੰਨੀ (ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ) ਰੋਂਦਿਆਂ ਛਡ ਕੇ ਰਣਵਾਸ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ।

ਆਵਤ ਹੀ ਦਿਜ ਲੋਗ ਬੁਲਾਇ ਜਿਤੋ ਧਨ ਹੋ ਘਰ ਮੋ ਸੁ ਲੁਟਾਯੋ ॥

Immediately he called Brahmins, the priests, and whatever wealth there was in the house, he distributed.

ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਧਨ ਸੀ, ਸਭ ਲੁਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਸੰਗ ਲਏ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਬਨਿ ਕੈ ਜੁਗਿਯਾ ਬਨ ਓਰ ਸਿਧਾਯੋ ॥

He took his wife with him, became yogi and travelled towards the jungle.

ਆਪਣੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਬਣ ਕੇ ਬਨ ਵਲ ਚਲ ਪਿਆ।
